Who we are

Murray Kelman has been fascinated by wildlife from early childhood, having been given his first camera by an American research student he attached himself to at age 7. The obsession snowballed, and today he is studying Zoology and Ecology at JCU. Having won multiple photography awards, he is rarely far from the bush, preferring to spend his time exploring the vast and teeming landscapes of the North.

Ash Tamayo’s lifelong interest in animals, combined with a childhood surrounded by ecologists, made pursuing Zoology and Ecology at JCU a natural progression. Now based in Far North Queensland, she spends her time exploring the region’s rich and diverse landscapes and wildlife. With a sharp eye for detail and organisation, Ash is the driving force behind the administration and online presence of Firetail Photography to keep it running smoothly behind the scenes.

Our Products

We offer a selection of photos available for purchase as prints. This selection is very fluid and constantly changing, so if nothing strikes your fancy, check back in later and you never know.

Available sizes vary, based on the image and the medium. If there is a certain size you would like that isn’t listed, reach out and we will see what we can do.

There is also the possibility for image licensing and commission work. Please contact us to discuss this if you have anything in mind.

We currently offer the following options when purchasing a print

  • Wrapped Canvas

    • Exhibition wrapped canvas print on a 38mm thick frame, with an archival life of 100 years. All canvas prints are finished with a UV protective satin liquid laminate, allowing easy cleaning and protection. Ready to hang.

  • Framed Canvas

    • Hand stretched canvas print mounted on a 5mm substrate and surrounded by a earthy feeling wooden frame on the edge. Available in three frame types; Oak, Walnut and Charcoal. Ready to hang.

  • Print only on Lustre Photo Paper

    • Print only, printed on Fuji Crystal Archive Lustre paper. Slightly textured surface with a professional feel, resistant to handling. Perfect if you have a frame that needs filling.
